A sink blockage can disrupt cooking, cleaning or the use of a washroom. You might notice slow drainage, standing water, gurgling or an unpleasant smell. Avoid pouring additional products into a sink if a chemical cleaner has already been used. When you call, mention any product you have added so the person assessing the blockage knows what may be present. Also let us know whether other nearby fixtures are draining normally.
If a toilet bowl is filling instead of emptying, do not flush it again. Keep the toilet out of use and tell others at the property what has happened. If another toilet, sink or shower also backs up, mention this when you call; it may help establish whether the problem extends beyond one fixture. A blocked toilet does not necessarily mean the toilet itself needs replacing. The cause should be assessed before any repair is recommended.
An outside drain may overflow or hold standing water when its flow is restricted. If wastewater is present, keep people and pets away from it. Do not enter an inspection chamber. Hampshire Drain Expert’s published services include drain unblocking and, where useful, CCTV inspection to investigate problems within accessible underground pipes.
